About Meganisi Island
Meganisi is a picturesque island located in the Ionian Sea, just east of Lefkada. This hidden gem offers an authentic Greek experience away from the crowded tourist destinations, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters, lush green landscapes, and charming traditional villages.
The island spans approximately 20 square kilometers and is home to three main villages: Vathy (the main port), Katomeri, and Spartochori. Each village maintains its traditional character with narrow streets, stone houses, and friendly locals who welcome visitors with warm hospitality.

Port: 12–15 minute drive to Spilia port for ferry connections to Lefkada
How to Get Here
By Ferry
- •Take the Ferry Boat Meganisi II from Nydri port in Lefkada to Spilia port on Meganisi (approx. 25 minutes)
- •Multiple daily departures — no reservations available, it's first come, first served; arrive early before departure time
- •From Spilia port, it's a 12–15 minute drive to Tati's Rooms in Vathy — walking is not recommended as it's too far
- •We can arrange a transfer from the port to our property upon request
- •Check the ferry schedule and prices here
By Car
- •First, drive to Lefkada island (accessible by bridge from mainland Greece)
- •From Aktion Airport (PVK) in Preveza, it's approximately 45 minutes to Nydri, Lefkada
- •In Nydri, follow signs to the ferry port where car ferries depart for Meganisi
- •Load your car onto the Ferry Boat Meganisi II — no reservations available, first come, first served; arrive early before departure time
- •After arriving at Spilia port on Meganisi, drive approximately 12–15 minutes to Vathy
- •In Vathy, follow signs for Tati's Rooms or navigate using Google Maps or Apple Maps
By Private Boat
- •If you have your own yacht, motorboat, or catamaran, you can dock at Vathy port
- •Vathy offers a sheltered natural harbor with mooring facilities
- •From Vathy port, Tati's Rooms is just a 7-minute walk uphill
- •Taxi boats are also available from Nydri to Vathy for a more direct (but pricier) connection
By Sea Taxi
- •Speed boat taxi services are available from several locations on Lefkada to Meganisi
- •From Nydri, you can take a sea taxi directly to Vathy port (near Tati's Rooms)
- •Sea taxis are faster but more expensive than the regular ferry service
